Tennis Head To Stillwater For ITA Central Regional


COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri tennis will take part in the ITA Central Regional Championship this weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The Tigers will join 22 other schools with nearly 150 student-athletes slated to compete. Regional singles and doubles champions qualify for the ITA Fall National Championships held in San Diego, California, Nov. 2-6.

Mizzou had its first-ever central regional champion in 2020 when Bronte Murgett went 6-0 on her way to claim a singles title in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Tigers are coming off a weekend at the June Stewart Invitational at Vanderbilt University. On the weekend, Mizzou totaled 19 wins, 14 in singles and five in doubles. The tournament format had teams playing different squads in singles and doubles each day.

Play will begin each at 9:30 a.m. CT and Oklahoma State has set a tournament page online for draws and schedules

Mizzou will continue its run of fall tournament play in the FIU Invitaitonal (Oct. 28) and the UNF Fall Invite (Nov. 11).
