FORT WORTH — University of Missouri tennis fall schedule ended on Sunday, Nov. 3 with the final day of competition at the TCU Jae Foundation Fall Open at the Texas Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Black and Gold opened day four of play with doubles action against SMU with the senior-freshman duo of Inah Canete and Korina Roso grabbing a 6-3 victory over Caroline McGinley and Arianna Stavropoulos.
Mizzou wrapped up the day with singles matches with two Tigers collecting wins. In straight sets, Canete captured a victory over Rice’s Saara Orav, securing the match, 7-5, 6-0. Roso faced off against Maryland’s Aida Eissa and came out on top, 6-4, 6-0.
HEAD COACH BIANCA TURATI
As a group, the team did not have the best start on the first day of competition, especially in singles. But I was satisfied to see the group bounce back and finishing strong today. Inah and Korina have been playing high-level in doubles and Inah, Korina and Gian got some good wins in singles. We’ve made good progress throughout the semester, but we know there’s a lot of room for improvement, especially on the mental aspect of the game. We’ll keep working to get better and be ready for a great Spring Season!
UP NEXT
After closing the fall schedule in Fort Worth, the Tigers will open their spring slate with the FIU Hidden Duals in Miami, Florida. The Black and Gold will begin play on Jan. 9 and wrap up competition on Jan. 12 at PayCargo Tennis Complex.
