HANOVER, N.H. – The Rutgers women’s tennis team continued action in the second day of Dartmouth’s Big Green Tournament, with solid performances in both doubles and singles play on Saturday afternoon. The team faced host school Dartmouth in both singles and doubles play.
The Scarlet Knights won two of three doubles matches in addition to five of six doubles. The team has now secured five doubles and eight singles victories through two days of competition.
Doubles
Amira Badawi continued her stellar play, picking up her third doubles win of the weekend and second with partner Chloe Brown (6-2).
The pair of Minchae Kim and Jackeline Lopez also recorded a solid win, 6-1.
Singles
Lopez kept up her success in singles as well, picking up another singles win for her second of the weekend. Badawi (6-2, 6-2) and Tara Chilton (7-6(5), 6-4) followed up with straight set victories.
Kim claimed a win also, fighting through three sets (6-4, 5-7, 10-4). Daira Cardenas completed the day for Rutgers with a dominant win, 6-2, 6-3.
