Tennis Concludes Fall Season with Day Three of the Big Green Tournament


HANOVER, N.H. — The Rutgers women’s tennis team finished their fall campaign Sunday morning, with the end of the Big Green Tournament in Hanover, New Hampshire. All eight Scarlet Knights played singles against opponents from UMass, Wisconsin and Dartmouth, winning five of them.

Singles

Karina Jumazhanova took care of business against Wisconsin’s Kaja Jacobson, beating her 6-3, 7-5.

Jackie Lopez lost the first set against Mariana Campino of UMass 6-7 (0), but battled all the way back winning her second set 6-4 and taking the win with a 10-8 tiebreaker.

Naomi Karki took an early lead against Amelia Tye of UMass, winning the first set 7-6 (2). She then dropped the next set 1-6, but pulled through in the tiebreaker winning 10-7.

Cindy Zhou dominated against Cosima Trinity Calinescu of UMass only losing one game with a final line of 6-0, 6-1.

Zeynep Ilker took on Dartmouth’s Valentina Cruz, defeating her 6-1, 6-4.
