Tennessee Set to Host at 2024 ITA Kickoff Weekend


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – For a fifth consecutive season, the Tennessee men’s tennis team is set to serve as one of 15 hosts at the 2024 ITA Kickoff Weekend. The event is scheduld for Jan. 26-29, 2024,
 
Joining the Vols in Knoxville will be No. 31 Oklahoma, No. 45 Washington and No. 57 USF.
 
The field was decided by way of the ITA Kickoff Weekend Draft, with teams from around the country receiving the opportunity to choose which host site they would prefer to play at. The 15 host sites were predetermined based on 2023 year-end rankings and selection order was based on year-end finish.
 
The winner of the Tennessee Regional advances to the ITA Indoor National Championships, running Feb. 16-19, 2024. That event is set to be hosted by Columbia University and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City.
 
Tennessee is 21-7 all-time at the ITA Kickoff Weekend since the event’s inception in 2009 and has advanced to the ITA Indoor National Championships in each of the previous three seasons, reaching the final in 2022.
 
At the 2023 ITA Kickoff Weekend in Knoxville, the Vols battled back from a 3-2 deficit against Oklahoma to win, 4-3, behind a dramatic clinch on court one from now three-time ITA Singles All-American, Johannus Monday.
 
Oklahoma finished its 2023 dual slate with a 15-12 record. Washington went 12-11 last season, while USF finished the year with a mark of 12-13.
