RALEIGH, N.C. – Virginia Tech (8-13, 2-7) fell to No. 22 NC State, 5-2, on Friday night in Raleigh, N.C.
The Hokies started off well on court one with Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback returning to form defeating No. 15 Robin Catry and Luca Staeheli, 6-3. The Wolfpack took courts two and three to claim the doubles point.
After falling into a 3-0 hole, Scott Sculley got Tech on the board with a straight-set victory, 7-5, 6-2.
Alvaro Saez-Royuela Ariza seemed poised to put the Hokies closer after edging ahead in the second set but was unable to close the match and fell in three sets.
