Tar Heel Men Advance At ITA Carolina Regional


CARY, N.C.—Four University of North Carolina men’s tennis players won two singles matches apiece on Friday in day one action at the 2023 ITA Carolina Regional at Cary Tennis Park. 

Karl Poling, Anuj Watane, Logan Zapp and Will Peters all went 2-0 on Friday to advance to Saturday’s singles round of 32. They all will resume play at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Tar Heels Dennis Perumov and Will Jansen each won their first match before losing their second in the round of 64. Peter Murphy dropped his first singles match on Friday.

Doubles play also will begin on Saturday. The Tar Heel teams of Peters/Poling and Zapp/Murphy will begin play on Saturday afternoon.
