Iga Swiatek’s No.1 ranking has been in jeopardy at numerous tournaments this season, but it is safe and sound through the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati and all the way through the end of the US Open.

Into her 72nd consecutive week as the Tour’s No.1, Swiatek stretches her lead over World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka to 984 points this week.

Both Swiatek and Sabalenka will be in action as the No.1 and No.2 seeds in Cincinnati this week.

Sabalenka is defending semifinal points at both Cincinnati and the US Open, while Swiatek will defend her champion points in New York.

Sabalenka still maintains a slim 235 point lead in the race to the WTA Finals.

Samsonova, Collins Rising

There were no moves inside the Top 10 in this week’s rankings but some big shifts inside the Top 50.

Liudmila Samsonova, a finalist in Montreal, picks up six spots to match her career-high ranking of 13, while Danielle Collins, the biggest riser inside the Top 50, jumps from 48 to 34 – she reached the quarterfinals from qualifying at Montreal.

Also rising, per WTA media:

Dayana Yastremska jumped 37 spots, climbing from No.149 to No.112, after winning a challenger title in Poland; Wang Xinyu defeated Madison Brengle in the championship match at the Landisville, PA, challenger to climb 14 spots to a career-high No.57; Great Britain’s Katie Boulter reaches a career-high of No.60, up 12 spots from No.72 after reaching the second round in Montreal as a qualifier.
