Spartans Drop Final Road Dual to No. 25 Wisconsin

MADISON, Wisc. – The Michigan State women’s team drops its final road bout of the regular season at No. 25 Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon, 4-0.

The Badgers started the dual taking the doubles on court No. 2 in clean fashion, 6-0, then would secure the point against the Spartans top court, 6-1.

Wisconsin’s hot rackets continued over on the singles courts, securing courts No. 1 (6-2, 6-2), No. 3 (6-1, 7-5) and No. 4 (6-1, 6-1) in straight sets.

Over on court No. 5, freshman Natalie Stasny was in a back-and-forth battle against Areil Johnson. Bouncing back from a tough 6-4 loss to Johnson in the first set, Stasny was pushing for a third set with a 5-4 lead in the second set before the match was abandoned.

Michigan State will be back in action at home this weekend as it closes out the season with a weekend slate. The Spartans face Nebraska on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m., then will honor their seniors for Senior Day on Sunday, April 21 against Iowa, first serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
