Sodan Joining Huskies In January

SEATTLE – The new year and a new season of Husky tennis are just a few short weeks away, and a new Dawg is headed to Montlake all the way from Croatia to join in on the fun. Ivan Sodan, ranked among the top-100 junior players in the world, will join the Husky family for the start of winter quarter and dual match play.

“We are extremely excited for Ivan to join our program in January,” said Husky Head Coach Rahim Esmail. “Ivan was one of the top junior players in Croatia and a top-75 ranked junior in the world, competing in the junior Grand Slams. One of the most exciting aspects of Ivan is how excited he is to be a Husky. Ivan is very committed to making this team better and being a great teammate.”

A native of Zagreb, Croatia, Sodan has played in the junior U.S. Open and junior Wimbledon tournaments, and he has earned ATP points in both singles and doubles. Sodan was ranked fourth in Croatia’s U18 rankings.

Sodan and the Dawgs will begin the season at home on January 14, hosting Idaho at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
