CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina, the 2023 NCAA National Champions, has seen seven of its standout women’s tennis players earn ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction, while the team once again garnered ITA All-Academic Team status for the 2022-23 season.
Reese Brantmeier, Fiona Crawley, Sara McClure, Sophia Patel, Elizabeth Scotty, Carson Tanguilig and Anika Yarlagadda all represented Carolina on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list.
Scotty earned the honor for the fourth-straight year, while Crawley and McClure landed on the team for the third year in a row. Brantmeier, Patel, Tanguilig and Yarlagadda are all first-time honorees.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
