Scott Perelman Promoted to Assistant Coach

Perelman joins head coach Adam Steinberg after 11 seasons as Florida’s volunteer assistant coach.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men’s tennis head coach Adam Steinberg announced Wednesday the promotion of Scott Perelman to assistant coach for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

“I’m super thankful and grateful for the opportunity to continue to coach at the University of Florida alongside the best coaches and student athletes in this country,” said Perelman. “The fact that Coach Steinberg has chosen to keep myself and Coach Cloer on staff is a tribute to him and something that Coach Cloer and I greatly appreciate. All three of us are locked in and ready to go to work.”

As the Gators volunteer assistant coach the past 11 seasons, Perelman has helped guide the UF to the program’s first national title in 2021, three Southeastern Conference Championships (2019, 2021 and 2022), two SEC Tournament Championships (2016 and 2022), 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, 28 ITA All-American honors and 31 All-SEC honors.

In Bryan Shelton’s final season, Perelman assisted the Gators win 14 matches during the 2023 campaign including six over top-35 opponents. Perelman also coached both Will Grant and Axel Nefve to ITA All-American and All-SEC honors, as well as Jonah Braswell to All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman Team.
