Rodrigues and Salle Advance to Consolation Semifinals at ITA All-American Championships


TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville’s Natan Rodrigues and Fabien Salle continued their stay at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championship with a quarterfinal win consolation bracket of the main draw Friday at the University of Tulsa.
 
Louisville’s 48th-ranked pair will take on Baylor’s 14th-ranked Finn Bass and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi in the semifinals Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
In Friday’s action against Florida State’ Garrett John and Pedro Rodenas, Rodrigues and Salle rebounded from a 6-3 first set with a 6-4 win in the second set. The Cardinal duo went on to take the third set 10-2 to reach Saturday’s consolation semifinal match.
 
With the win, Rodrigues and Salle improve their record to 8-1 in the fall season with their only loss coming in the first round of the ITA All-American main draw. The tandem opened the tournament with three straight wins in the qualifying draw.
