TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama’s Anna Parkhomenko recorded four consecutive straight-set victories over the weekend (July 23-25) to win the 2022 ITA Summer Circuit at the Tuscaloosa Tennis Center. Parkhomenko put together a dominate run in the tournament, dropping a total of just eight games on her way to clinching the crown.
After opening the tournament with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Gabriella De Jesus, Parkhomenko captured a perfect 6-0, 6-0 quarterfinal result against Miriam Grosmann. She won 6-1, 6-3 against Emma Roberts in the semifinal round to earn a spot in the championship match against Elizabet Verizona. In the finals, Parkhomenko jumped out to an early lead with a 6-0 first-set score, only to follow with a 6-3 second-set decision to win the tournament.
