MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Max Basing, Jr., Stanford (Oxshott, United Kingdom)

  • Won a pair of singles and doubles matches from position two in Stanford’s victories over UC Davis (Feb. 22) and California (Feb. 25).
  • Opened his week with a singles win over No. 93 Ryan Torres from UC Davis, notching a 7-6 (1), 6-1 victory. Also added a 6-3 doubles win against the Aggies. 
  • Picked up another doubles win (6-4) against the Golden Bears and took down Cal’s Alex Chang, 6-3, 6-3 in singles. 
  • Stanford’s second Men’s Tennis Player of the Week honor this season, as Nishesh Basavareddy took home the acclaim on Feb. 13.  

ALSO NOMINATED: Daniel Phillips, ASU; Govind Nanda, UCLA; Dzianis Zharyn, WASH

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Angelica Blake, Gr., Stanford (Boca Raton, Fla.)

  • Helped lead the Cardinal to victories over No. 4 Texas (Feb. 23) and No. 57 UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 24). 
  • Earned a win over No. 22 Sabina Zeynalova of Texas, battling for the 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 win on the top singles court. 
  • Followed with a doubles win on court two against the Gauchos in Stanford’s 6-1 team victory on the day. 
  • Stanford’s second Women’s Tennis Player of the Week award this season, as Alexandra Yepinova earned the honor on Feb. 13.
