The No. 8 ranked USC men’s tennis team will be on the big stage this weekend as they travel south to participate in the UTR College Match Challenge: BNP Paribas Open. The Trojans will face Pepperdine at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Sunday, March 19 at 10 a.m. 
 
USC (9-3) has been battled tested throughout the spring, defeating heavyweights such as No. 15 Florida, No. 13 Georgia and No. 12 North Carolina while also defeating crosstown rival UCLA twice. 
 
ABOUT UTR COLLEGE MATCH 
The UTR College Match Challenge: BNP Paribas Open will feature the University of Southern California and Pepperdine University men’s teams facing off in a regular-season dual match on the morning of Sunday, March 19. Fans in Tennis Paradise will have the opportunity to witness the talent and energy of college tennis prior to the ATP and WTA championship matches.
 
The UTR College Match Challenge is free of charge to those with a ticket to the tournament.

RANKINGS: 
USC boasts three Trojans in the national singles rankings with sophomore Peter Makk leading Troy at No. 24. Trojan senior Stefan Dostanic locked in the No. 33 ranking while Wojtek Marek claimed the No. 113 spot. 
 
USC also boasts the No. 17 ranked doubles pair in Stefan Dostanic and Bradley Frye.
 
SCOUTING PEPPERDINE:
No. 38 Pepperdine is 5-5 on the season, having defeated Georgia Tech, UCSB, #45 Tulsa, UC Irvine and #41 Penn. The Waves boast one ranked singles player in No. 65 Daneil De Jonge and a ranked duo in No. 38 De Jonge and Tim Zeitvogel. 
 
Last year, Pepperdine upset USC in their only meeting, when Pepperdine was ranked No. 41 and USC was No. 5. In 2021, the teams faced off twice, with the Waves winning during the regular season and the Trojans getting revenge in the second round of the NCAA tournament on their way to the quarterfinals.
