No. 4 Wisconsin blanked by No. 1 Michigan in B1G Semifinal

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – No. 4 seeded Wisconsin concluded its run in the Big Ten Tournament against No. 1 Michigan, 4-0, in the Big Ten Tournament Semifinal today, April 27.

Doubles looked promising at the start, when No. 82 Maria Sholokhova and Alina Mukhortova shutout the No. 8 ranked pairing in the country, 6-0. Michigan was stronger in both the two and three positions, giving the Wolverines the advantage.

Michigan continued to be a challenge going into singles, with Wisconsin only winning two of the six first sets. The Badgers retaliated with Taylor Cataldi persevering and claiming a 7-2 tiebreak win in the second. With that win, four Badgers were competing in third sets. A valiant effort was put up by Wisconsin but Michigan clinched its fourth point in the No. 2 matchup.
