No. 25 Wisconsin extends win streak with 4-0 win against Boise State


BOISE, Idaho – The No. 25 Wisconsin women’s tennis team has found its groove, extending its win streak to four matches after a dominant 4-0 win against Boise State. The Badgers now sit at 7-2 on the season, which is their best start after nine games since the 2019-20 season.
 
Taylor Cataldi and Charmaine Seah started off the day beating Joana Baptista and Holly Stewart in doubles, 6-2. Xinyu Cai and Alina Mukhortova sealed the doubles point on another strong doubles day for the team, winning against Nicole Discenza and Lorelyz Marruffo 6-3.
 
It was a straight one, two, three on the singles side for the Badgers; Cataldi gave the team their second point overall after beating Stewart 7-5, 6-1. Mukhortova made it 3-0 overall with a decisive 6-1, 7-5 win over Marruffo. Cai secured the win for Wisconsin, beating Baptista 6-4, 6-4.
 
Next up, the Badgers take on Baylor in Waco, Texas on Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. (CT).
