Erika Matsuda and Sarah-Maude Fortin fell 6-4 to the No. 9 doubles pair Zampardo/Rajecki to bring the pressure to courts 1 and 3. No. 1 doubles Alexia Jacobs and Astrid Olsen defeated the Wolfpack’s pair of Zyryanova and Abrams, the No. 6 doubles pair in the nation, 6-3.

Washington’s top four courts all faced singles players in the top 40, with Matsuda playing the highest ranked player (NC State’s No. 10 Rajecki). Matsuda took the match to three sets but couldn’t hold on โ€“ dropping the match 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.

ย

After dropping her first set, Jacobs bounced back for a dominant 6-0 second set win over No. 40 Rencheli. Jacobs was down 2-3 in the third set before the Wolfpack’s No. 1 clinched the match, 4-1. ย
