No. 20 Men's Tennis Wraps Up Home Slate Against Utah


TEMPE– No. 20 Arizona State Men’s Tennis (13-8, 1-2) looks to host their last home match against Pac-12 foe University of Utah (3-15, 0-4) on Friday, April 12 at 5 p.m. MST. The Sun Devils will be celebrating their seniors: Max McKennon, Jacob Bullard, and Spencer Brachman, as well as host Alumni Weekend against the Utes.

The match between the Devils and Utes will be held at Whiteman Tennis Center and will have live stats available, which can be found here. Admission is free to fans.

SUN DEVIL NOTABLES

  • Freshman Bor Artnak leads the team with his 12 singles wins. He posts a 12-2 record in 16 matches this season.
  • In their last seven doubles matches, Jacob Bullard and Murphy Cassone are 5-1. 
  • The Sun Devils have won seven of their last 10 matches. 
  • In this week’s ITA singles rankings, the Sun Devils had two players in the top 125. Junior Murphy Cassone at No. 6 and freshman Bor Artnak at No. 55.
  • Two of the last four matches for ASU have been either canceled or suspended due to weather. ASU has not seen a win since March 22 against No. 24 UCLA.

PREVIEWING THE UTES (3-15, 0-4)

  • Utah has no players in the ITA singles or doubles rankings, and is not currently ranked as a team. 
  • The Utes are 0-4 in Pac-12 play. Their losses come from the hands of Washington, Oregon, Cal, and Stanford. 
  • They currently ride an eight-match losing streak which dates back to March 15. 
  • The Utes are 3-3 against the Sun Devils since the program’s reinstatement in 2018. They have a 1-2 record when taking on ASU in Tempe.
