No. 13 Women of Troy Defeat Stetson 4-0 During ITA Kickoff Weekend Consolation Match

The No. 13 USC women’s tennis team recorded their fifth victory of the season with a 4-0 win over Stetson during the consolation match of ITA Kickoff Weekend on Saturday (Jan. 28) in Athens, Ga.
 
USC took an early lead, claiming the doubles point as Trojans Naomi Cheong and Snow Han recorded a 6-2 win over Stetson’s DiFrancesco/Hedrzak on center court. A few moments later, Grace Piper and Nathalie Rodilosso would haul in the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court three, defeating Cohen/Gabriel (Stetson). 
 
Carrying a one point advantage into singles, Trojan freshman No. 2 Maddy Sieg continued her winning ways, defeating Cheri Darley (Stetson) 6-3, 6-0 on court two to further extend USC’s lead. Just one court over, No. 24 Eryn Cayetano would defeat Stetson’s Alanna DiFrancesco 6-3, 6-1 on center court to put the Trojans within 1 point of victory.  The match was won on court six as Trojan McKenna Koenig would defeat Stetson’s Pilar Harper 6-1, 6-4 to solidify the win. The remaining matches were suspended.
