Nirundorn/Tokac Semifinals Bound at ITA All-American Championships

The freshmen pair knocked off their fifth ranked duo of the tournament to advance to the semifinals.

TULSA, Okla – Tanapatt Nirundorn and Togan Tokac are proving to be a dynamic freshman duo in the doubles main draw at the ITA All-American Championships as they’ve advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.

The Gators pair played their fifth ranked match at the tournament against No. 25 Trey Hilderbrand and Noah Schachter from Texas A&M and efficiently made quick work of the Aggies.

With a dominant first set victory, 6-3, Nirundorn and Tokac converted on one break point to go up 3-1 and cruised the rest of the first frame.

The second set proved to be the biggest test of match as the freshmen went the distance. Hilderbrand and Schachter picked up a break point to go up 5-3, but Nirundorn and Tokac answered with winning two consecutive games to tie the second set at five apiece. The Aggies won their service game to lead 6-5, but Tokac held serve sending the second frame to a tiebreak. Florida closed out the match and won the tiebreak with ease, 7-3.

Nirundorn and Tokac will next face No. 26 Brian Cernoch and Ryan Seggerman from North Carolina in their semifinal match at 2 p.m. ET.
