NCAA Individual Draws Include Women's Tennis Trio

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The draws for the 2022 NCAA Tennis Championships women’s singles and doubles tournaments were announced Sunday, providing opponents for Elysia Bolton, Abbey Forbes and Elise Wagle of UCLA as they continue their seasons at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex.

Bolton and Forbes are each in the singles field for the second time. Bolton is making her third appearance in the doubles tournament and first with freshman Wagle. Singles matches start Monday and doubles competition begins Tuesday.

All matches shall be the best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and a seven-point tiebreaker (first to seven points, must win by two points) at six-games-all will be used for all matches. In doubles, a 10-point match tiebreaker will be played in lieu of a third set.

Bolton will be the first Bruin in action, as she is scheduled to meet Kit Gulihur of North Florida Monday at 12 p.m. PT. Forbes, who is coming off a quarterfinal-round appearance in 2021, begins her journey against Lisa Zaar of Pepperdine at 2 p.m. PT.

Bolton and Wagle drew the top-seeded NC State combination of Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller. The start time for that Tuesday matchup has yet to be announced.

Matches will be streamed on the TennisONE app.
