Nathan Thompson was hired as a volunteer assistant coach for Christy Lynch’s tennis team in 2021, and is entering his second season in 2022-23.

Thompson was a member of Clemson’s men’s tennis team from 2001-05, and was named to the All-ACC First Team in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American in 2004 and earned ACC Player of the Year honors in 2005.  As a part of the team from 2001-05, he led the Tigers to the 2004 Men’s Tennis NCAA Elite Eight, and was an NCAA Individual Semi-Finalist in 2004.

Prior to joining Lynch’s staff, Thompson served as the Head Coach of the Southern Wesleyan men’s and women’s tennis teams from 2017-21
