KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee senior Johannus Monday and graduate Angel Diaz earned a spot on the 2024 ITA Division I Men’s Team Indoor Championship All-Tournament team, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Monday.
The awards were voted on by participating head coaches, as six singles players and three doubles pairs received recognition.
Monday and Diaz made the All-Tournament team as the No. 1 spot doubles pair, recording a perfect 3-0 record atop the lineup for the Vols in the Big Apple. The duo defeated USC’s Peter Makk and Lodewijk Weststrate, 6-1, in the Round of 16, Virginia’s Chris Rodesch and Jeffrey Von Der Schulenburg, 7-6(5), in the quarterfinals, and topped off the weekend with a victory over Harvard’s fourth-ranked Cooper Williams and Daniel Milavsky, posting their highest-ranked doubles win as a pair this season.
