Mohr, Stammel Earn SEC Honors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Two members of the Vanderbilt women’s tennis team were honored by the Southeastern Conference on Thursday.

Sophomore Celia-Belle Mohr was named to the First Team All-SEC. Mohr is ranked No. 30 and plays primarily in the No. 1 position for the Dores. She holds a 28-15 overall record this season, and most recently, she defeated Texas A&M’s No. 2 Mary Stoiana at the SEC Tournament. Additionally, Mohr and doubles partner Marcella Cruz took back-to-back wins over ranked opponents and are ranked No. 41 in the country.

Freshman Bridget Stammel was named to the All-Freshman team. Stammel is ranked No. 99 and plays primarily between the No. 2 and No. 3 positions for the Dores. Stammel has defeated five ranked opponents this season and has 29 singles wins overall. In doubles, Stammel and partner Anessa Lee have gone on a seven-match win streak this season.

The duo and the rest of the Commodores will learn their postseason fate during the NCAA Tournament selection show at 5 p.m. CT on Monday. The NCAA will announce the individual tournament bracket on Tuesday on NCAA.com.
