Miyoshi Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois sophomore Kenta Miyoshi secured a spot on the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District list for the first time in his career, the organization announced on Tuesday.

To be eligible for the award, a nominee must have a 3.50 GPA and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Nominees must also be a starter or important reserve to the team and have participated in at least 70% of total matches that include team scores.

Miyoshi – a strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship major – led the Illini in singles wins during the 2023-24 season with a record of 27-9, including an unblemished 6-0 mark in conference play. Competing at No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 singles over the course of the campaign, Miyoshi won both of his contests during the team’s NCAA Team Tournament run.

Playing mainly on Court 3 with teammate Mathis Debru, Miyoshi went 18-10 in doubles play while finishing with a 5-1 tally against in-conference opposition.

Miyoshi earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors following his sophomore season, the first all-conference accolade of his career.
