Michigan Grabs No. 7 Seed, Will Host NCAA First and Second Rounds This Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The No. 7-seeded University of Michigan men’s tennis team will host the NCAA First and Second Rounds at the Varsity Tennis Center for the second-straight season, as the 2023 tournament field was announced Monday (May 1).
The Wolverines boast a 24-4 overall record and will host MAC Champion Toledo on Saturday (May 6) at 1 p.m.
LSU and California will play in a first-round match on Saturday (May 6) at 10 a.m. The winners of the Michigan/Toledo match and the LSU/Cal match will advance to the second round and face off on Sunday (May 7) at 1 p.m.
Michigan is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh consecutive season and 32nd time overall in program history. The selection also marks the fourth time that the program has earned the right to host NCAAs.
Admission will be free to all matches this weekend at the VTC, which is also playing host to the first and second rounds of the women’s NCAA Tournament. It is the first time both teams have hosted the first and second rounds.
