GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Miami’s Alexa Noel was selected the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honors while North Carolina’s Reese Brantmeier earned ACC Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week honors. This is Noel’s second award and Brantmeier’s third.

 

Noel and the Hurricanes went undefeated on the week, as the eighth-ranked sophomore picked up two wins at the top singles position and another pair of doubles wins at the No. 2 position. The Summit, New Jersey, native picked up two ranked wins over No. 31 Marie Mattel of No. 23 UCF (6-2, 6-1) and No. 87 Anna Arkadianou of No. 40 Florida State (7-5, 7-6 (7-3)). Noel and her partner Isabella Pfennig won the opening match of play against the Knights, 6-2, and the first match against the Seminoles, 6-2.

 

No. 33 Brantmeier went 4-0 on the week as top-ranked North Carolina downed Louisville 6-1 and swept No. 14 Notre Dame, 7-0. On Court 2, the Whitewater, Wisconsin, native earned a two-set 6-4, 6-0 win over Louisville and a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Notre Dame. Now the No. 15 ranked doubles pair in the country, Brantmeier and Elizabeth Scotty earned a 6-3 win over the Cardinals and a 6-1 win over the Irish.
