SEASON IN REVIEW

Penn State ended its regular season going 13-13, posting a 3-6 conference record to clinch the No. 7 seed in the Big Ten Tournament. The Nittany Lions kicked off conference play against then-ranked No. 20 Northwestern and then-ranked No. 52 Illinois. Despite dropping both matches, Penn State bounced back with two convincing wins over Purdue and Indiana for an even mid-season record.

Following a Big Ten loss to the No. 1-seeded Ohio State, the Nittany Lions bested a tough Michigan State team, 4-3. Penn State capped off their Big Ten regular season schedule with losses to then-ranked No. 7 Michigan, No. 73 Nebraska, and No. 63 Wisconsin.

The Nittany Lions boast three players with twelve or more singles wins, including sophomore Sam Bossem who holds a 13-4 record, going 4-1 in Big Ten play. In doubles, Penn State earned a 57-48 overall record. Sophomore Miko Eala went 11-5 in doubles matches during the spring season.

PREVIEWING THE HOOSIERS

Indiana enters the first round of the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 10 seed in the conference. In the middle of a 12-match losing streak, they finished the regular season with a 0-9 conference record. Coming off a Big Ten weekend, the Hoosiers lost to No. 52 Illinois, 4-3, before being swept by the No. 28 Northwestern Wildcats in their last match of the season.

Penn State defeated the Hoosiers 4-3 on the road in the match between the two programs earlier this season. Despite losing the doubles point, singles wins from Eala, Bossem, Charl Morgan, and Ismail Saadi earned the Nittany Lions the conference match victory.

UP NEXT

The winner of the dual match will face the No. 2-seeded Michigan Wolverines at 4 p.m. ET on Friday, April 29.
