BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Penn State men’s tennis team dropped their match to Indiana. The squad traveled for their first conference road match of the season, but ultimately fell 5-2.
DOUBLES
Partners Nolan Ranger and Ari Cotoulas took court No. 1 against Michael Andre and Ilya Tiraspolsky, but dropped their match, 6-1. At No. 2, Stefan Simeunovic and Jack Martuccio played a close match, but fell 6-4 against Sam Landau and Carson Haskins.
On court No. 3, Miko Eala and Alex Sterin were down 5-4 against Facundo Yunis and Luc Boulier when the match went unfinished as Indiana had already clinched the doubles point.
SINGLES
On the No. 1 court, Eala brought his match against Yunis to a tiebreaker, winning 2-6, 6-3, 11-9. Cotoulas took the No. 4 spot, defeating Jagger Saylor, 7-5, 6-4, in straight sets.
At No. 2, Simeunovic dropped 6-3, 6-1 against Landua. Ranger took the No. 3 spot, but fell to Andre, 6-3, 6-2. On court No. 5, Sterin dropped his match, 6-0, 6-2, to Tiraspolsky. Ritvik Nadikude played at No. 6, but fell to Deacon Thomas, 6-1, 6-2.
UP NEXT
The Nittany Lions continue their weekend on the road, facing Purdue on Sunday Mar. 31. The match will be held at the Schwartz Tennis Center at noon.
