EVANSTON, Ill. – The Penn State men’s tennis team finished its season against No. 1 Ohio State in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Nittany Lions dropped the match 4-0.
DOUBLES
On court No.1, Jack Martuccio and Stefan Simeunovic fell to #35 Andrew Lutschaunig and Justin Boulais, 6-1. At No. 2, Ari Cotoulas and Alex Sterin dropped their match, 6-0, to Robert Cash and Bryce Nakashima.
Miko Eala and Nolan Ranger were down 5-0 at No. 3 against Cannon Kinglsey and JJ Tracy when the match went unfinished as Ohio State had already claimed the doubles point.
SINGLES
Ranger played in on court No. 3, but fell 6-1, 6-1 to #16 Tracy. At No. 4, Cotoulas dropped his match against #29 Jack Anthrop, 6-2, 6-0. Sterin took court No. 6 but dropped to Cash, 6-2, 6-0.
At the top spot, #83 Eala took on #33 Boulais, dropping the first set, 6-3, but led the second set, 3-0. On court No. 2, Simeunovic kept strong, trailing 6-4, 1-2 against #18 Kinglsey. At the No. 5 spot, Martuccio was down 6-1, 3-3 against Alexander Bernard. Eala, Simeunovic, and Martuccio’s matches all went unfinished as the match had already been clinched by Ohio State.
