BATON ROUGE, La. – The eighth-ranked Tennessee men’s tennis team is slated for another conference road contest, taking on No. 28 LSU at 1 p.m. ET (noon CT) on Sunday at the LSU Tennis Complex.

LAST TIME OUT

The Vols (15-4, 4-1 SEC) fell to No. 12 Texas A&M, 5-2, on Friday in their first SEC road contest. Chris Li posted his first ranked win of the season with a 7-6(2), 6-2 effort over the Aggies’ No. 118 Togan Tokac on court three.
 
SCOUTING LSU
LSU (11-5, 1-4 SEC) has lost four consecutive matches in conference play, most recently dropping to Kentucky, 4-2, at home. Stefan Latinovic, who plays atop the Tigers’ singles lineup, boasts a 7-5 record in that position, losing five of his six most recent matchups. Julien Penzlin is 9-1 at the No. 6 spot in singles while holding a perfect 8-0 doubles record alongside his partner, Chen Dong. Welsh Hotard and George Stoupe, ranked 74th in the nation, are 8-1 at the No. 2 doubles spot.

With his straight-set victory over the Aggies’ No. 36 Raphael Perot, Johannus Monday has defeated 11 ranked opponents in 2023-24, with seven residing in the top 50. The senior boasts a 15-2 record atop the lineup this season and is four wins away from eclipsing 100 career singles victories.
 
CHRIS LI FINDING A GROOVE

Li is currently on a four-match winning streak in SEC play and holds a 5-1 record at the No. 3 spot for Tennessee. His win over A&M’s Tokac marked his 10th dual match win this season.
