STARKVILLE, Miss. – The seventh-ranked Tennessee men’s tennis team is set for a top-15 road matchup vs. No. 14 Mississippi State on Friday at 4 p.m. ET (3 p.m. CT) at A.J. Pitts Tennis Center.

LAST TIME OUT
The Vols (19-4, 8-1 SEC) posted a dominant sweep over No. 19 South Carolina on Senior Day to boast a 15-0 regular season record at home.
 
UT secured the doubles point for the 21st time this season with wins on courts one and two. Angel Diaz registered the Vols’ first win in singles play, routing Carter Morgan, 6-0, 6-2 on court six. Shunsuke Mitsui followed with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 victory over James Story on court two. Filip Pieczonka clinched the Big Orange win by cruising in a 6-1, 6-3 effort over Lucas da Silva at the No. 5 position, tallying his 15th singles win of the year.
 
SCOUTING MISSISSIPPI STATE
Mississippi State (15-5, 7-2 SEC) is on a four-match winning streak in conference play, most recently defeating Alabama, 4-3, on March 31. 
 
Nemanja Malesevic, ranked 107th in singles, is 8-5 atop the Bulldogs’ lineup this season. No. 42 Peter Jovanovic boasts an 8-4 mark at the No. 2 spot, while Benito Sanchez Martinez holds a 10-5 record at the No. 5 position. 
 
In doubles, Jovanovic and Sanchez Martinez, ranked 22nd as a pair, are 8-5 as MSU’s top duo in 2024 and have notched five wins in SEC play. Malesevic and Michal Novansky hold a 5-1 record at the No. 3 spot.

Tennessee secured a perfect 15-0 home regular season record for the fifth time in program history since 2000. The other undefeated home records came in 2021, 2011, 2010 and 2001.
