Men’s Tennis Boasts Nation's Third-Highest Ranked Incoming Class

Last week, the Tennis Recruiting Network announced that the Arizona State men’s tennis incoming class is ranked third in the nation– the team’s highest class since reinstatement. The 2024 winter class is comprised of four players: Bor Artnak, Jimin Jung, Tanner Povey, and Mikey Anderson.

“All three crush it in the classroom and are incredibly well-liked by their peers,” Men’s Tennis head coach Matt Hill said. “I honestly couldn’t be more excited about the future of our program.”

The Sun Devils amassed 412 points during the voting period, as decided by reporters, national and international tournament directors, referees, ranking chairmen, and writers from across the country who have donated their time and talents to vote on these top classes. ASU trails only the University of Virginia and UCLA, who had the first and second ranked incoming class, respectively.

Artnak is competing this spring for the Sun Devils and is tied for a team-high four singles wins, after most recently defeating #31 Iiro Vasa last weekend. Artnak is also 7-0 in doubles alongside teammate, senior Max McKennon

Jung is a Blue-Chip American from Cary, North Carolina. He comes to ASU with a 35-19 career record in the junior circuit, is ranked in the top 25 nationally, and is the number two recruit from North Carolina.

Povey is the second five-star recruit in the class of 2023 for ASU. The 6’3″ lefty comes in ranked number four in the state of Florida and has an impressive 39-16 record in the junior circuit. He has a prized list of accomplishments including winning the 16’s double championship at the Eddie Herr International.

Anderson comes in as a five-star recruit who is ranked in the top 25 nationally and is the number three recruit from the state of Florida. He has amassed a 36-29 record in the junior circuit and won the 16’s double championship at the Eddie Herr International.
