SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah men’s tennis head coach, Roeland Brateanu has officially announced the signing of Emmett Potter transfer from Wake Forest. Potter will join the Utes for the 2024-25 season as a sophomore.
“Emmett is a tremendously talented and hard working young man who bring a wealth of experience from his time at Wake Forest and a semifinal team appearance at this year’s NCAA Championships,” Brateanu said.
Potter, a Calgary, Canada, native, played one season at WF. In his freshman season, he helped the Deacs to a 31-7 overall record on the season. During the 2023-24 season, Wake Forest made it to the NCAA Team Semifinals.
During his prep career, he was ranked No. 8 in Canada. He attended Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai, Calif, where he was a five star recruit. He was ranked as high No. 26 in the United States in his junior career.
“I’m super excited to be joining the Ute family,” Potter said. “I think it’s great that we’re going to have a young core and be able to build towards something special. I can’t wait to get on campus for the fall and get to work with the team.“
