TALLAHASSEE, Fla., – Mississippi State’s Nemanja Malesevic is moving on to the main draw of the ITF Tallahassee 15K.
Malesevic claimed a 6-3, 7-6(7) victory over Serbian Aleksa Ciric of Georgia Gwinnett College in the second round of singles qualifying on Tuesday.
The Bulldog junior battles 29-year-old Ricardo Rodriguez of Venezuela on Wednesday at approximately 1 p.m. CT in the opening round of the main draw.
Carles Hernandez fought for three sets in his second round qualifying match against former MSU transfer Jonas Hartenstein. Hartenstein – now at North Florida – claimed the first set 6-1 before Hernandez evened things up with a 6-4 victory in the second.
Hartenstein outlasted Hernandez 10-4 in a third set super tiebreaker.
