Lopez Earns B1G Singles Win as Tennis Drops Decision at Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The Rutgers women’s tennis team (10-10, 1-8 B1G) dropped a 4-1 decision at No. 52 Maryland (13-9, 4-5 B1G) on Saturday afternoon at the Junior Tennis Champion Center. Jackeline Lopez her first conference singles victory of the season in the loss.
 
Doubles
 
Maryland earned wins on the first and second courts to claim the doubles point and an early lead in the dual.
 
Singles
 
The Terrapins extended their edge to 3-0 with victories on courts No. 1 and 3.
 
Lopez added a point for RU with a B1G win on the sixth court. The junior defeated Francesca Feodorov in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.
 
UMD then clinched the dual with a win on the fourth court.
