Lady Vols Tabbed All-Academic Team, Five Named ITA Scholar Athletes

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The 2024 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Women’s Academic Awards were released on Monday afternoon with five individuals from the Tennessee women’s tennis program earning Scholar-Athlete distinction, along with the group as a whole earning All-Academic Team recognition.

The five Lady Vols recognized were Alana Wolfberg, Catherine Aulia, Esther Adeshina, Lauren Anzalotta and Sofia Cabezas. To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete honors, these student-athletes needed to attain a GPA of 3.50 or higher while earning a varsity letter during the 2023-24 school year.

For the fifth consecutive year, Tennessee has now placed five or more student-athletes on the ITA Scholar-Athelete list. Since 2003, a total of 60 Lady Vols have received recognition from the ITA for their outstanding work in the classroom.

The Lady Vols also posted a team GPA of 3.65 for 2023-24, earning the ITA All-Academic Team distinction for the 13th time as a program. The Lady Vols have achieved the honor seven times in the eight years Alison Ojeda has led the program.

ITA All-Academic Team accolades are awarded to teams where the cumulative GPA is 3.2 or higher. All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (fall 2023 and spring 2024).
