Krish Arora – Men’s Tennis — Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis freshman, Krish Arora, is turning childhood dreams into a modern reality. 

At age six, Krish Arora picked up a tennis racket for the first time and has been playing tennis since. Arora’s passion for tennis was inherited from his parents, Devendra and Pooja. While his father used tennis as just a hobby, Krish wanted to take this sport that bonded his family as just a hobby and turn it into his profession. 

With the dream of becoming a pro, Krish has been trained by his father, Devendra, since an early age, preparing him for any challenges he might face. 

In July of 2022, Krish and his mother traveled to Boca Raton, Florida where he entered to play in the Clay Court Championships. He saw action in both singles and doubles matches there with Georgia Tech assistant coach Kevin King in attendance. Hard work was starting to pay off for Krish after a weekend of stellar performances, an impressed King reached out to discuss a potential future at Georgia Tech.  

As his senior year of high school started, Krish would soon need to decide where he would attend college and further develop his tennis career. Knowing exactly where he needed to be to get one step closer to his professional dreams, Krish committed to Georgia Tech on November 27, 2022. When asked why he chose Georgia Tech, Krish attributes the coaching staff and the academic program, recognizing them as top programs in the nation. 

Since arriving at Georgia Tech, Krish has enjoyed the change of pace. “Attending classes in person, interacting with other students, and solving problems has been a different experience” Krish stated. However, with academics being as equally important as athletics, Krish has set his sights on achieving a 4.0 this academic school year. 

Coming off a thrilling collegiate debut tournament at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships, Krish has sights on a bigger goal than just a title. The California (Newport Beach) native is working towards a spot on the ITA rankings charts. Arora looks forward to making his home debut at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. 

“My ultimate goal is to become a professional tennis player, that’s why I chose Georgia Tech.”
