NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The June Stewart Invitational has come to a close for the Purdue women’s tennis team.
The first two days of the invitational, the Boilermakers found their rhythm in doubles, but singles got to have their moment on the final day.
Of the eight singles matches the Boilers played in, six ended in Purdue wins. Sophomore Juana Larranaga continued her singles success from previous days to close out her match 6-4, 6-2. Freshmen Antonia Pareja and Ashlie Wilson also had big wins at 6-0, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-1 respectively.
Junior Rut Galindo fought through a tiebreaker to win her first set 7-6 (7-3) and followed it up with a 6-3 win in the second set to seal another match for Purdue.
