Jeremy Jin faced Jack Loutit (Kentucky) in the quarterfinals on Saturday morning. Jin defeated Loutit in a 6-3, 6-3 effort. The win secured his spot in the singles competition at the NCAA Tournament. Jin will join doubles pair Tanapatt Nirundorn and Henry Jefferson in Waco, Texas next week.
At the Bonita Bay Classic, the Gators went 4-2 on the second day of competition. In singles action Florida faced the University of Tulsa and the University of Central Florida in doubles play.
JanMagnus Johnson defeated Reiya Komagata and clinched a straight set singles victory. Johnson took the first set 6-4 and cruised to a 6-0 win in the second.
Ben Weintraub defeated Adam Bojkovic in straight sets. The freshman took the first set 6-4 and carried his momentum into the second recording a 6-2 victory.
Freshman Francesco Cordova once again found success in a three-set match against Calum Jestin. Cordova won the first set 6-3, but Jestin took the second with a 6-2 win and extended the match. Cordova secured the final set 10-8 to secure the victory.
Mattia Akcan dropped his match against Gus Tettamble 3-6, 6-1, 4-10.
On the doubles side Florida went 1-1 against the University of Central Florida. Johnson and Tanapatt Nirundorn defeated Luca Hotze and Emilio Sanchez in a 6-2 effort.
Akcan and Cordova fell 4-6 against Nicolas Oliveira and Adriano Dzhenev.

“Extremely proud of JJ. He is where he belongs and that is the NCAA Tournament. There was a lot of pressure knowing this was his last chance to qualify and he played very well over the last three days to punch his ticket to Waco. We are very excited to have a singles player and a doubles team representing the Gators next week.
