Jacobs And Olsen Reach Doubles Semifinals At ITA Northwest Regionals

STANFORD, Calif. – Two Huskies advanced to the doubles semifinals at the ITA Northwest Regionals on Sunday at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Alexia Jacobs and Astrid Olsen earned two doubles victories Sunday. The pair didn’t give up a game in their round of 16 matchup Sunday morning against a Cal State Fresno duo, advancing to the quarterfinals with an 8-0 victory.

The two kept the momentum going, besting the Dunkle sisters from Cal Poly, 8-5, to continue on to the semifinals Monday.

“Alexia and I have been locked in on all the points, keeping it simple and sticking with our strengths throughout the entire length of these matches,” Olsen said. “Nothing changes for the next ones and we are ready to get after it.”

Her partner agreed, both looking forward to using the drive from today to power them in their semifinal matchup.

“We played into our strengths today and were feeding off of each other’s high energy,” Jacobs said. “Serving bombs and we are ready to do it again tomorrow!”
