DURHAM – After recently registering her seventh win of the season against a ranked singles opponent, Duke women’s tennis junior Emma Jackson entered the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings at No. 93 in the latest ledger that was released on Tuesday.
Jackson, a native of La Grange Park., Ill., has won 11 out of her last 14 singles matches with five of those against ranked foes. She opened ACC action two weeks ago in impressive fashion by knocking off 10th-ranked Alexa Noel of Miami with a 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 victory. It marked her third career win against a top-10 opponent. Jackson’s highest career ITA singles ranking is No. 21.
Other ITA singles rankings for the Blue Devils include — Ellie Coleman (#90), Katie Codd (#94), Shavit Kimchi (#97) and Brianna Shvets (#110).
As a team, Duke moved to No. 21 nationally with an 8-4 overall and 2-2 ACC mark.
Duke remains at home this weekend as the Blue Devils host Clemson on Friday, March 8 at 2 p.m., followed by an 11 a.m., match on Sunday, March 10 against Georgia Tech. Both contests are scheduled to be played outside at Ambler Tennis Stadium.
