Illini Women's Tennis Headed to Wahoowa Invite to Open Fall Slate


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois women’s tennis will kick off its 2022 fall slate at the Virginia-hosted Wahoowa Invite from Sept. 16-18 in Charlottesville, Va.

Head coach Evan Clark and a contingent of four Illini student-athletes are headed to ACC territory. Making the trip this weekend are Kate Duong, Josie Frazier, Megan Heuser and Ashley Yeah.

Most matches will be played outdoors at the courts of the Virginia Tennis Facility. Extra matches will be contested on the indoor courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.

Players from Virginia, Old Dominion, West Virginia, NC State, Illinois, Auburn, LSU and Princeton will be competing as individuals in singles and doubles matches.

There will be three waves of matches each day. On Friday and Saturday, matches will begin at 9 a.m. CT, noon and 3 p.m. On Sunday, the matches will start at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Fighting Illini players will be in action in the 9 a.m. session on Friday, noon on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday.
