SEATTLE – After going 6-0 in the month of March with five wins over ranked opponents, the Husky women’s tennis team was named the Women’s Division I Team of the Month by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Washington has already kept the ball rolling in April with a win over Oregon on Sunday.
 
The Huskies’ March included a sweep of the L.A. schools for just the second time in program history, and then another home sweep of the Arizona schools for a 4-0 start to conference play. It also featured a big road win at San Diego and a home sweep of Seattle U.
 
Washington climbed from 26th up to 16th during the month and started April at No. 18. The Huskies beat Oregon to improve to 14-3 and 5-0 in Pac-12 play and will try to keep in contention for the Pac-12 title this week when it heads to the mountains for three matches in four days. UW starts at BYU on April 6 then plays the next day at Utah and then finishes the trip on April 9 at Colorado.

  • March 5th, def No. 31 USC 5-2
  • March 17th, def No. 29 Arizona State 4-1
  • March 19th, def No. 57 Arizona 4-3
  • March 21st, def No. 39 San Diego 4-2
