Live Match Coverage

SEATTLE – The Huskies resume their homestand this week with the first of two meetings this year against the rival Oregon Ducks. As is always the case, this first meeting between the Dawgs and Ducks will not count towards the Pac-12 standings, but will carry plenty of weight in terms of rankings and bragging rights. The match is set for this Thursday, Mar. 7, at 5 p.m.

Current weather forecasts make it likely that the match will be played indoors at the Nordstrom Tennis Center, though if things warm up, its possible the match could be the first this year played outside at Bill Quillian Stadium.

Washington (6-4) was off last week but has won its past three home matches, looking to make it four on Thursday before going back for another extended road stretch that won’t see the Dawgs back in Seattle until April 5.

The Huskies are ranked 71st in the latest ITA team rankings, with doubles duo Cesar Bouchelaghem and Dzianis Zharyn coming in at No. 17 nationally this week.

Oregon is sitting at No. 57 with a 10-5 record. The Ducks have solid wins over No. 50 Northwestern and No. 56 Nebraska on their resume. The Ducks will be hungry for a win, however, as they lost their last three matches on the road to No. 14 San Diego (0-4), No. 53 UCSB (1-4), and No. 36 Florida Atlantic (3-4). Senior Quinn Vandecasteele is ranked 101st nationally and in doubles, Vandecasteele and Matthew Burton are ranked 33rd.

Washington and Oregon split their two meetings last season, with each team winning on the road.
