Huskies Battle In Torero Tennis Classic Second Day


The Huskies finished out day two of the Torero Tennis Classic on Saturday at Coronado Tennis Club.
 
Washington faced some early challenges in doubles action but found some moments of success in singles.
 
Melissa Sakar and Yolanda Lin beat their opponents in straight sets. Sakar defeated San Diego’s McBride 6-4, 6-1, and Lin defeated Georgia’s Gaudette, 6-2, 6-1.
 
The Dawgs will take the courts Sunday at 11:45 a.m. for the final day of the tournament.

  • Lopata/Nirundorn (Georgia) def. Sakar/Matsuda (UW), 6-3
