Huskies Add Columbia’s Kerr To Incoming Group


SEATTLE – Washington Head Coach Robin Stephenson announced another addition to the incoming Husky class today as Columbia transfer Jennifer Kerr is headed to UW. Kerr is the second Columbia Lion to make the jump to Washington for next season, joining teammate Melissa Sakar.
 
Kerr is a native of Carlsbad, Calif. and completed her undergrad at Columbia this spring, with one year of eligibility remaining.
 
She was a five-star recruit out of high school, ranked 17th in the country, with a career-high UTR of 11.0. Five star recruit out of juniors from San Diego, CA – ranked 17th in the country.
 
Kerr played positions 1, 2 or 3 over her career at Columbia and finished with an overall record of 72-39 singles record, 41-21 in dual matches and 14-5 overall in Ivy League singles matches. She also has compiled a 56-34 career doubles record.
 
In the 2021-22 season, Kerr served a steam captain and went 17-11 overall and 9-8 in dual play. She was nominated for the Columbia Athletics’ William V. Campbell Performer of the Year Award. Kerr was an All-Ivy League First Team pick in 2019 and Second Team in 2018.
 
The Huskies now have three newcomers for the 2022-23 season in Kerr, Melissa Sakar, and freshman Erika Matsuda.
