Huskers Hold Boilers At Bay


LINCOLN, Neb. – The Purdue men’s tennis team ended their road weekend with a second ranked loss to No. 47 Nebraska on Sunday.

While the Boilermakers were unable to secure the victory, many players put up strong fights and worked deep into sets. 

Daniel Labrador took a strong lead over his opponent at No. 2 but was unable to complete his match after the competition was clinched by the Huskers. 

Michal Wozniak trailed by a game when the match ended, but he forced the first set to a win by two situation where he was defeated 5-7. Milledge Cossu also went down in his first set with a 5-7 loss and was beaten in straight sets.

Tomasz Dudek nearly forced a third set after coming back from a 4-6 loss in the first. He was leading 5-3 in the second when the match was lost.

Purdue has now been shutout in four of their five Big Ten matches.

Up Next

The Boilers return to West Lafayette to battle Michigan and Michigan State for their final home matches of the season.
